William Sinclair Earns Gamer of the Week Honors
Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. and The Putnam Herald are pleased to present this week’s male Gamer of the Week William Sinclair of Winfield Tennis!
William Sinclair has been leading the way for the 6-0 Winfield Generals Tennis Team. The Junior, who is playing number one singles and doubles, is undefeated this season. When discussing his success Sinclair said, “I have had great coaching growing up, my dad was a great tennis player and I take lessons at Teays Valley Tennis Center.”
Head Tennis Coach Kyle Spalding said this about his number one singles player, “William has grown tremendously over his three years not only as a player but as an individual. On the court, William puts in hours each week whether with the team practicing or out on his own through lessons, clinics and tournaments, and it shows…He has always been a dependable individual and one that I can count on to lead. Having William on the team has been a blessing and has definitely helped us with talent and depth on the roster,”
Sinclair started playing tennis when he was younger when his dad signed him up for some clinics at Teays Valley Tennis Center. He says he was a little unsure about tennis at first, but over the years fell in love with the sport and has enjoyed the success he has had in the sport. When discussing role models, he pointed to his dad who was a good high school tennis player as well and has supported and helped him along the way.
“During William's tenure here, he has helped lead the boys' team to two conference titles and one regional title. This year he is on pace and in a position to lead us deep in the state tournament,” said Spalding.
The Generals will be back in action Wednesday April 17th when they travel to take on Charleston Catholic.
